Top Secrets for generating passive income, retiring early and owning a haunted museum
Everyday people come to me to ask one thing: “How could you do it!?” and I have finally decided to write down the tips and tricks I learned along the way to financial security. Some might be new to you, some might be the common sense tips you need to be reminded of, but all of them are things the top 1% of earners used to make their fortunes. Buckle up, because you’re about to learn from the best.
Invest and invest early!
Every successful person will tell you that the best day to get started is…yesterday! Start building a portfolio of assets as soon as you can. Stocks are good, but so are bonds! One thing you should jump into as soon as you can is real estate. Nothing will secure your future like it! Just be careful, if you see something like a parcel of land on the edge of town for sale at a price that seems too good to be true you should do your research first before deciding to buy it sight unseen. Once you own it, you’re stuck with it. You go to the department of records to try to find out who owned it before you and they just look at you with their cold dead eyes and laugh, laugh, laugh. Still, real estate prices only go up so don’t worry too much!
Don’t be afraid to take risks!
Almost everyone is afraid to take that first step towards making money. I know when I was first confronted with an economic crisis, I responded by boarding up the museum that I now owned on the edge of town. I was wrong to do it. I am so sorry. I am so, so sorry.
The Museum is Always Hungry!
Listen, those teenagers would’ve found their way in no matter what you did, so why bother keeping it boarded up? That’s just money you’re leaving on the table. They want to go to the museum. Why should you stand in their way? The free market is about supply and demand and you have something people are desperate for — to see what is in the strange building on the edge of town that promises to show them things they have never seen in their small provincial lives. There is an old saying that goes something like “If you build it, they will come.” This is true for even for things you didn’t build, it isn’t your fault. People with the real entrepreneur spirit will look at a crisis and see an opportunity, train yourself to only see opportunities. Do not see a crisis.
Do Not Ask Where the Exhibits Come From
If the answer to a question can only upset you, do not ask it.
Learn how to self promote!
Always be on the lookout for new ways to grow your business. Maybe you’ve been thinking of finally learning a new skill? Maybe there are some transients in your town that have no friends or family in the state? Maybe you own a museum that suddenly no locals will agree to work at and need to look for new ways to stay staffed? Starting a website is a good way to get your brand out there and begin advertising. Gift cards are a great idea-many people who buy them never cash them in, making it a great source of free revenue. They’ll give you their money and never even have to come to the museum. But they will. They always do.
Keep these simple tips and tricks in mind in all your wheeling and dealing and soon all your dreams will come true. Will it be a straight line from where you are now to success? No, but it never is for anyone! To use a common metaphor- Your museum starts small and relatively unknown, the elderly in your town even warn young people to stay away from it no matter what! But with a little hard work and relentless brand promotion soon people will be coming in from all over to see it. Soon it will be too late to stop it.
